Resmed S9 Autoset

Post by cam1 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:39 pm

Hello.
I have tried 2 brand new Resmed S9's and both amplify inhalation noise with a minor whistle on exhalation.
Either people have become accustomized to these sounds or I must be the heaviest inhaler in the world!
In any event, I have a Fisher Paykel 604 which I have used for the past 5 years and it works flawlessly but just wanted something a little more streamlined from an aesthetically pleasing and travel poing of view.
I have heard that the Philips RS One (with the heated hose) is better in regard to my 2 aforementioned points, so I will give it a try.

My PR System One 550 makes a very slight cyclical noise but I just think of it as the sound of the machine 'saving my life'. Comforting is the way I try to picture it, therefore I'm cool with it. Never underestimate the ability of the human brain to adapt to just about anything.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I have used the F & P Sleepstyle 200 machine which is similar to your model 604 for over 4 years.. I understand what you are saying...I noticed the same thing when I use my alternate machine which is the Resmed S8 Autoset. However, after I use the S8 for a few days I don't notice the inhalation noise.

I love my autoset! Yes, I hear a whistle as the humidifier warms up and I do hear my breathing early (before going to sleep), but never later. I fall asleep within the first 10 minutes so it's a keeper in my book. YMMV
