pain in the chest cavity

Post by Summer Rain » Fri Jan 25, 2013 3:47 pm

I think that I remember some were saying that they thought that Cpap had caused them some pain in the chest? After my very first few times on Cpap I experienced some "Pleurisy " type symptoms, it seemd like....? Sort of on the side of my chest wall, it felt like? My doctor said she had never heard of it? I thought maybe my lungs were reacting to having all of the new "forced air" coming in? It has subsided for now...but I don't stay on the machine for very long , yet? In lots of ways, my body is telling me not tooo much too fast.... I think?

It's usually the ache of chest wall muscles that are learning new patterns, breathing more deeply than before.
I felt it the morning after titration and a couple of the first days of treatment.
In a few days, new tissue will grow to accommodate the new cpap style of getting enough air, all night.
No reason to do less, but more. Like with a pulled muscle, the best treatment is some gentle stretching.
Just relax, and let it do its work. You will be breathing like a champion in no time.
