Mask strap

Post by Shadow2 » Wed Jan 16, 2013 8:22 am

Having trouble with my mask straps, the Velcro doesn't seem to be as effective. I have had the mask for 7 months. Thank you.

A couple of options:

1. If you have a supply replacement schedule with your DME provider, you may be eligible for replacement mask/headgear.
2. If you are handy with a sewing machine, you could replace the velcro.
3. Ebay or Amazon may have the headgear for your mask for sale, or your DME provider, or another company (B&M or online).

A lot depends on your insurance - I see you are in Australia, and whilst I am Australia, have lived in the US for 14yrs so am unfamiliar with XPAP provisions. You would certainly be able to purchase new headgear through our host - cpap.com.

Cheers,
xena

The Velcro on the mask straps (headgear) does lose its effectivness after a period of time.

In addition, the headgear does stretch out a bit over time.

Medicare and insurance in the U.S. do allow for the replacement of the headgear only (as oppossed to replacing the entire mask). Since you are in Australia, I will leave those specifics to someone from there.

"I" would replace the headgear since it is 7 months old.
