My 90 days are up
My 90 days are up
I turned in my SD card to my DME as my 90 days is up since I got my CPAP machine. I assume I am Medicare compliant. Does that mean that my DME is done looking at the usage of my machine or will they still need to see my SD card periodically. I'm hoping that's the end of it. They are over fifty miles away round trip. Any advice would be appreciate it.

Maybe call them and ask if you will have to be coming in every 90 days. If they say no, ask them if they will still be checking.

Medicare also requires a face to face visit with the doctor sometime between 30 and 90 days.
Since your S9 Escape only gathers hours of use all that can be reported is how compliant you are and how you feel.
Medicare does the rent to own thing for 13 months. I don't know what requirements there might be at the 12/13 month of the contract. Ask your DME or call Medicare.
It's unlikely that the DME will want to see the SD card anymore. Once initial compliance requirements are met they won't have any need to see the hours of use and since that is all the Escape gathers...they won't bother looking at hours of use unless you complain about something...not that hours of use would help much.

Re: My 90 days are up
After the compliance requirements are met, Medicare won't require the DME to look at your data anymore, and the DME obviously doesn't care, because the only information your machine gives is compliance hours. They stuck you with a brick.
There's only one reason you even need to keep a data card in there. Suppose you ever (G-d Forbid!) cause an accident and you are accused of falling asleep at the wheel because of your history of OA/ If that's the case, you have evidence that you have remained compliant with CPAP. You would be considered negligent if you did not use your CPAP knowing that you have apnea.
But otherwise, the data is useless, since it only reports hours of use. The DME doesn't care, and you already KNOW if you're using it or not.

Re: My 90 days are up
I too just did my first 90 days. My DME has me log on to their website and send info to them that way. Might want to ask.
