Post by jwpinkham » Fri Jan 04, 2013 4:11 pm

I am purchasing a PR System One APAP DS550 tonight . Will this provide full data including wave forms for Sleepyhead or Encore Basic?

Yes, you can use either SleepyHead or EncoreBasic or both.
Send me a PM and I will get you pointed to Encore. SleepyHead information in my signature here.
I will send you a PM with link for the provider/clinical manual in just a few minutes.

The DS 550 is the model that offers both cpap and apap modes and yes, it is a full data machine.

Uses a SD card to gather the data. If your computer has a SD slot you won't need anything else. If you don't have a SD slot any cheap generic reader/adapter will work in a USB port.
If you happen to have Windows 8...you will need to do something special to get EncoreBasic to work. I can help you with that if need be. Just let me know.

It's an excellent machine.

The later "60 series" model DS560 adds the option of getting a heated hose to prevent rainout, but the 550 works just fine.

Are you getting a heated humidifier as well? Most people need a humidifier.

You can get a heated hose for the the 550 with an aftermarket setup.

You are totally good to go... it's a solid little work horse that will get the job done (if the 'auto' algorithm is correct for you). I've pulled mine onto the floor twice; had it bounced around in the trunk of my car and had it go thru a couple of brownouts... no harm done. Works GREAT with Sleepyhead also.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Good solid machine! I have used mine since 11/09/11 and have not had any problems. They say you never forget your first love and for me this is my first PAP and I love how it has transformed my sleep and improved my health .
