Loss of voice??

Post by sunny16 » Tue May 09, 2006 2:13 pm

I have been lurking here for quite a while. I have been on a machine for around a year and it sure has helped me. I recently had to bump my air pressure up from 12 -14. It took a few days to get used to it. But recently I have noticed that my voice is kind of rough-like by afternoon. I don't notice any pain in the back of the throat but that my voice is shot. Like I have a cold in a way. Anyone else have this problem. It doesn't seem to be all the time but I have noticed it lately.
Oh, and this forum has been very informative since being diagnosed with apnea. Lots of great information. Thanks.

You may be experiencing acid reflux or GERD as it is sometimes referred to. If the acid is coming high enough to your vocal cords it could be causing problems but you should feel some burning as well.
