resmed vpap s how lond should it last?

Post by Thetoolman » Fri Dec 28, 2012 7:00 am

I was just wondering how many hours / years will this machine last? It is a resmed vpap s . Looks like everything is replaced by insurance every year EXCEPT the machine itself.

They are very good tools - mine is 8 years old. Just don't spill a glass of water in them.

Hi,

It should last years. I have 3,000 hours on my M-Series machine, and over 8,000 on my S8 VPAP 25 Auto. Both have worked flawlessly and both still look like new. Keeping them clean, replacing the filters, and having a surge protector (that you replace every so often--surge protectors do wear out over time) helps. As another poster commented, water is the biggest threat--don't get them wet (except inside of the water chamber).

Thanks. I was told by the guy (clinician?) that set mine up not to fill the chamber in the machine, water might spill in the heater . I don't see what a drop or two on the heat plate would do. It just blows from there out the exhaust port.
