Hello all,
I am looking for chinstrap recommendations. I tried the ruby chinstrap size small and the chin part fits well but the headgear is too big, it gaps behind my ears. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
G

Re: Chinstrap suggestions
Hi Pap365,
I have had good success (since my very first night on the hose) using the Respironics Premium chin strap. For me it seems to balance comfort and functionality very well, but as with most things we use in our PAP treatment, what works great for me might not work at all for you .

Ditto on the Respironics Premium chin strap.
Re: Chinstrap suggestions
Are you sure you are putting it on right? Picking the right opening to put your head through is not entirely obvious with the Ruby.Pap365 wrote:Hello all,

If you have the Puresom Ruby the white label should be on the left side of the band that ends up on the back of your head, just left of the center of the back of your head.
When you are holding it to pull it over your head, your left thumb should be resting on the underside of the band with the white label, with your left first finger touching the label. Holding it that way, dip your chin into the slingshot formed at the part hanging down, and pull the top part over the top of your head and towards the back of your head.
I am assuming you have the fixed-size model. I tried an adjustable Ruby and could never get it to feel/fit right.

My ResMed Chin Restraint works better for me than any of the others I have tried - and is much more comfortable.

Re: Chinstrap suggestions
@2flamingos & John thanks for the recommendations. If I can’t get the ruby to work, I will try the premium chinstrap next.
Nate, thanks for the directions! I have the newer, one piece ruby chinstrap. It doesn’t have a white label. I tried putting the chinstrap on following your instructions and when I compared the result to the diagram that came with the chinstrap it looks the same. I still have fabric gapping in the back. I wonder if I could fold the excess fabric and stitch it down?
Cosmo, I'm glad the ruby worked for you!
Take Care,
G
