I found a machine that I think I can get it for 150 to $200.00. IT is a RESMED S8 machine heated, mask ,hose ETC. I am wondering If I can get inside this one and set it to my settings easily, or must someone in the know do it ? Just about how old might this machine be? I looked for the price by searching to buy it. But it just says not for sale to public pic for parts only??? I wanted a unit to use for travel. I could keep it packed up . also I would like one in my BUG OUT BAG!-- GOOD DEAL? or what?I dont know
Thanks
D

Get a machine with 12v input instead.
You need this thing for an S8.
DC-12 Converter $74.95

Which model S8? Escape? Escape Auto? Elite? Elite II? AutoSet?
It's easy to get the clinical manual for the S8 and be able to get into the setup menu to change the settings.
I don't remember when the S8 machines became available but they had been around a while when I first started therapy in May 2009. The S9 models were released in 2010.
There is a way to check the run hours for the machine to see how many hours of use it has had. Explained in the clinical manual.
You can request the manual here. You will need to know model...scroll down near the bottom for instructions on how to request a manual.

This is what I have on it. Resmed S8 Humidaire 3i CPAP machine I just don't want to get something that is old and not able to keep me going on a trip.$200.00 sounds good , supposed to have nearly no hrs on it. I posted the picture so (I hoped) some one maybe could tell what it was for shure by sight, looks just like the one in cpap.com. why is it NOT FOR SALE? it still is in the on line catalogs . but no price!

Re: good for back up & bug out?
You are using a bilevel machine.... The S8 won't do it.
If it were me I would contact mcdover and ask him what he wants for his M series BiPap and humidifier.
Respironics eliminates the need for the pricey ResMed converter for electric to battery.
He had these 2
Resp. M-Series BiPAP Plus with Heated Humidifer (no data)
Resp. Bipap Auto M-series (full data) and software and special card reader is available if needed or wanted. Software free...card reader $46
The Auto is a full data machine...tell him take the humidifier off the Plus..
Or I know where you can get one for $50.
See his thread here
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=83637&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
Contact him for price and hours of use on the machine.
Or ask about the others. $200 for the S8 unless it is the Autoset is a little steep.
All the S8 machines look alike but the model name is shown on the machine but in little letters.

Re: good for back up & bug out?
The humidaire 3i is the humidifier. S8 is the CPAP, but there are still at least 5 different S8 models it could be. It should say something like escape, elite, autoset, etc. on the blower unit somewhere. It may say "EPR", but that's no help.Thetoolman wrote:This is what I have on it.
