Hi all-
I have been using a remstar plus cpap for 7 years until today when my PR 60 series auto cpap arrived. I have not been able download the patch for sleepyhead as my computer keeps telling me that I am missing some kind of file. So until I can figure that issue out I would like to try the basic encore in order to begin looking at my data. I am very happy to move out of the stone age and into to modern times. Can someone help me? Thanks so much.

Check Uncle Bob's signature line for information on Encore
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=38643
Read the Help section for instructions on how to use the software.
SleepyHead...are you having trouble downloading the file or are you downloading...unzipping and then trying to run from the unzipped folder? If you try to run the patch file from within that folder you will get a "missing dll " notice.
You have to take that unzipped file over to the main SleepyHead folder and remove the old application exe file and replace it with the patch file.

Thanks so much! Yes I am getting the missing dll warning. I will try and see if I can make it work now. Is the sleepyhead better than the basic? Thank you.

SleepyHead will let you do some things with it. Encore doesn't let you do anything but it gives the same data but just presented visually differently.
This is what you will get with Encore
EncoreGuide link this will show you examples of what you will see. For a different machine than yours but the basics are the same.

I personally like SleepyHead better. Encore is horribly slow but there are the daily detailed Encore reports that are nice an concise to look at. So I keep both for my PR S1 machine.
The Patch will work but you have to install the basic SleepyHead first.
If you have Vista or Windows 7 I suggest installing it with the "run as administrator" command line instead of regular install. This allows the update that is available to install easily.
Then you have to take the unzipped Patch file and place it in the main SleepyHead folder where the original application exe file is. You can rename the old exe file or just remove it. Then place the new patch file in the folder.

Re: Basic encore for PR 60 series help
OK, got the patch installed for sleepyhead. Thank you very much. Now I just need to figure out this new machine and collect some data. I was originally prescribed a pressure of 9, but that was 7 years ago. What pressure range would one start with?

Re: Basic encore for PR 60 series help
You are wanting to try APAP mode?
Actually I would pick something really close to what you have been using for the last 7 years. Your body will be used to one thing and if you go making big changes or allowing big changes then you may find that your body doesn't know what to think of the new way of doing things.
Just a thought to keep in mind. Don't go all wild with your options.
Start with something close to what you have been using and then evaluate the reports and make changes gradually.
If you have been using 9 cm for 7 years and want to use APAP mode...choose a narrow range to start with.
If you were brand new to APAP therapy might be a different story because the body hasn't adjusted yet. It wouldn't know any difference.
You never had data in the past did you? Why not use your usual 9 cm cpap mode or a very modest range in APAP mode like 8 minimum and 10 maximum? Your body is used to a nice continuous pressure all night and if you start throwing large changes at it you may find your sleep quality isn't so great.
Evaluate your reports after a few nights to see if you think you want to change something. If you make changes, make them slowly.
Just because you can set a wide range doesn't mean you should right now.
You already have a new machine, new exhale relief and a new algorithm to get used to. Take your time with getting used to pressure changes. There is no rush to do everything in one night.
