Can AHI = 0?
Can AHI = 0?
Long time (5+yrs) satisfied CPAP patient with a new machine that reports my AHI at 0 after 30 days. Is that possible?

Re: Can AHI = 0?
Sure, it happens to me a couple days each month. However, if you get 0.0 for too many days in a row, it might be worth powering down your machine and restarting it. Don't know what kind of equipment you're flying, but my S9 Autoset sometimes gives me strings of 0.0 for a few days. When I check the data I can see events that weren't flagged. So I power it down and then restart it and everything's fine. Might also be a bug in my older machine, but I offer it for what it is.
Re: Can AHI = 0?; C-flex distracting
Sorry, I have a new PR System One REMstar 60 Series Plus CPAP Machine with C-Flex, humidifier, unheated hose. I will power down and up as you suggest. After years of a constant pressure, I find the lower exhalation pressure distracting. I have tolerated it for 30 days but I am close to removing the exhaltion pressure (C-flex?).
I have to say I love CPAP despite some drawbacks. I get decent sleep, not excellent, a lot better than pre-CPAP days.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Can AHI = 0?
I get an AHI of 0.0 every once in a while too. If I were achieving that day after day, though, I think I would consider lowering my pressure just a slight bit. Not that there is anything wrong with perfection, but I would probably feel that I could afford to trade a few hypopneas for more comfort and less leakage.

Please confirm the model machine that you are using. Look on the bottom of the blower unit for a 3 digit model number.Billlee wrote:I have a new PR System One REMstar 60 Series Plus CPAP Machine with C-Flex, humidifier, unheated hose.
If it is what you have said above....that would be model 260 and it doesn't even gather AHI data. All it gathers is hours of use for compliance purposes.
That AHI of 0.0 you might see doesn't mean anything at all...the 260 model doesn't gather AHI, leak, or PB% like the full data machines gather.

Re: Can AHI = 0?
I am at work, away from my machine. My notes and my DME say I have model 460. I just mailed by chip to them a few days ago and they say they have not received it. I tried to read it with Sleepyhead's software before mailing. The software picked up my serial number but "no data found". I can easily belive it is operator error. The DME promised to discus my report after they process it.

Well, that would explain it, too. Sliced by Occam's Razor again!Pugsy wrote:[[snip] That AHI of 0.0 you might see doesn't mean anything at all...the 260 model doesn't gather AHI, leak, or PB% like the full data machines gather.

Model 460 is the PR System One 60 Series Pro CPAP machine. Clearly stated on the bottom of the machine on a sticker that also has an 8 digit number on it usually starting with 2012.
If you have a 460 machine and tried SleepyHead and got the no data message did you get a floating brick or just a generic no data found message.
If you used SleepyHead did you use the Patch for the 60 series machine? If you didn't then that would explain "no data" message.
See this thread.

If you did the patch and you do have a 460 machine and you still get "no data" then maybe the navigation to the SD card is not quite correct. People tend to go into the P Series folder and that is too far. Need to stop the navigation at the drive letter where the SD sits.
If you have a blank SD card you can insert it into the machine and let the machine write the stored data to the SD card.
It actually stores quite a bit of data on its internal memory. No need to wait for DME to get your card and read it and get it back to you.
First thing though....look on the bottom of the machine for that model number.

check "show AHI/leak/PB" is not set to "off" ... it should be set to "on" to display on the info screen
