Adding days to Rescan

Post by MyIdaho » Mon Dec 03, 2012 2:45 pm

Hello,

I'm using ResScan (v 3.16) to review my cpap performance. I have complete data stored for the first week and now have additional days to download. How do I download additional days to ResScan and retain all the information for each day?

Thanks!

Your question is not clear if you're asking about storing data on the SD card or in your computer? Download the ResScan software and check it there.

I now have two years of data stored in my laptop and could access each by clicking on the day as you see here at the left column:

The same as the first download. You will have to select the number of days to download. Have you watched the video tutorial for ResScan? It's linked below in my signature.

Thanks for the replies! My question relates to retaining the full information when downloading data from the SD card. My first download to ResScan went without a hitch. I have full summary and detailed graph data on the first week. More recently, I downloaded an additional weeks worth of the data (two days were new, 5 days were old). ResScan reported that I had duplicate data and wanted know if it should delete the duplicate data. Being a newbie, I said yes because 5 of the days on the SD had already been downloaded and I assumed the duplicate day information would be deleted. However, I only summary data for the two new days. Detailed graphs are missing. I specifically selected "all data" when downloading so what happened to the detail? I want to keep full data for the first thirty days. How do I prevent the loss of data? Thanks!

Put your card back in, select 2 days to download, all data, and check the little box. When it says you already have duplicate data, select "Overwrite".
Normally your choice is overwrite or discard and unless you need to overwrite data, like a second sleep session for the same day... you select discard.
The card will keep 7 days of high res data before it overwrites it on the card. Your summary data stays for a year.

If it says you already have certain days, "I" would choose "Discard"

But, since you already did what you did, I would first do what Lizistired recommended.
Then, from this point on, choose "Discard".

Hmmm, do I really want to choose discard? Choosing discard results in only 7 days of full data on my computer. I don't want to lose anyd data on the computer during future downloadings.... SleepyHead adds new easily and seamlessly....

Your card only has 7 days of complete data! Discard doesn't discard the data in ResScan, it just doesn't rewrite data that is already there. You are making this more complicated than it is. I have 2 years worth of data in my patient file. All you have to do is download at least every 7 days.
when you are offered the choice to discard or overwrite.... read the question. It usually refers to summary data from your starting date, in which case you discard.

I agree.

In addition, MyIdaho, remember that if you don't like the results you see on the screen from a current download, you can always choose to Quit ResScan without saving!

I've been choosing discard as well when I download daily (last night was my 7th day, so no overwrite yet). I was wondering, though -- if I accidentally choose 'overwrite', will that also affect the notes I keep each day? Would they disappear because the day's data was overwritten, or are they kept separately? Right now, I'm including my own notes with the same note that includes download data, so it seems the note would disappear if I overwrote, but I was wondering if anyone else knew for sure.

Thanks!

I don't think it will effect your notes. I have overwritten numerous times and never lost any data.
The only time you should ever need to overwrite is, for example... you take an afternoon nap and look at your data afterwards. After sleeping overnight, when you download, RS will warn that you already have data for that "day". You must "overwrite" to add the nights data.
