Has anyone used one of these? If so, please share your impressions. It's found at http://www.medslant.com. Amazon also sells them.

Thanks

A cheaper option would be to put 4" risers under the head end of the bed.
This way you are not forced to sleep supine, due to the bend a wedge forces into your hips.
(Not recommended on water beds)

i sleep on a wedge like that and have for a long time. i'm finally realizing after years of hip pain that it is doing no good. the reason is that your body bends in the middle and the pressure on your hips causes pains. also during sleep, you tend to slide down the wedge making the bend angle/pressure/pain greater. when i get a little energy, my next step is to try bricks under the head of the bed. that way for whole body is on the angle and it does not bend in the middle. the only way this wedge concept would work is if the wedge were the full length of the bed, which would be the same effect as bricks under the head of the bed. bricks/boards are cheaper. try them first.

My parent had metal support things that were bolted to their old bed. That way there is no slippage possible during vibration, cough cough.

Same experience, have found adjustable beds work if you raise the feet also, takes the pressure of back/hips

I have this wedge pillow. It is quite comfortable, soft, portable. It has a case and it is easy to travel with. The only flaw is quality, it is quite low and foam is easily deformed.

High quality, high density foam is expensive.
Don't expect to get it cheap, or even half-way reasonable.
Look at the prices of wheelchair cushions.

In an irrational moment I once bought a Medslant wedge. Eventually I did something more rationally:

Wife bought wooden risers for the bed at a home store. Advantages: There is no cushion to mess with, nothing to store during the day and no covers to launder.

And maybe most importantly, with the risers you can sleep on your sides and that is not so easy with Medslant.

We also have a set of plastic risers in another room and they work just as well as the wooden ones and seem quite durable.

I think you can get them at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and use your 20% coupon.

If a coupon was involved, then that's what my wife did! Love her dearly.

Would risers work for bed legs with wheels?

I tried googling this but I couldn't tell from looking at pictures.

Thanks!

It depends on how big the wheels are. Assuming the wheels are not bigger than about four inches diameter they would work in the wooden ones I have. Both the plastic and wooden ones have a shallow cutout area for the legs (or wheels) to sit in and the wheels would not roll off.

Thanks V, they are slightly over 2 inches so it looks like I am in luck.
