Water usage in S9 Humidifier

Post by Gary_C » Sun Nov 25, 2012 10:11 pm

Got through my issues with my doc and ended up getting a new S9 Auto. Seems to be working pretty well. Had some leakage issues but got that sorted out and now the machine seems to be working pretty well. I have my first follow up appointment in a weeks time but in the meantime I thought I would ask here...

I usually fill the humidifier tank about half way at bed time and there is always plenty of water left in the resevoir in the morning.

Do folks usually use all their water or is it normal to have some left in the morning....

It depends on the humidity in the room.

I fill mine fully each night and usually use about half of it. Pretty predictable actually. Only been using it since August so don't know what will happen once Summer really sets in (I'm in Australia).

And the humidifier setting. It's pretty dry in my home. I fill it every night and set the humidifier to 4.5. The tank is close to dry every morning after 8 hours sleep.

Now that colder dry air has settled in here in Connecticut, we are running humidifiers in our house to keep the humidity above 30%.

On my H5i with Climate line hose, I have temperature set at 80 and humidity set at 3.5.

I fill my tank every night & use about 2/3rd of it each night. Any water that is not used is dumped each morning and the tank dries out during the day.

I live in Melbourne Australia and summer is just starting and I'm running the air conditioner. I fill my s9 to the lowest mark and it last almost a week.

I fill mine to the Max line, and there is a normally a small amount left after two days, not enough for a third day.
I just checked it. I filled it last night, and it's about 1/2 full (or empty if you are a pessimist ). It's down two lines from the top line. Also slept in unusually late this morning so it ran for about 9 1/2 hours.
Your millage will vary.

Water usage varies with humidifier setting, room temperature and humidity, hours of use, and total leak rate. Total leak is affected by mask pressure, mask type, and unintentional leaks like mouth leaks or mask leaks.

With my ClimeateLine hose attached and set to 78 degrees, I use about 2/3 a tanks of water per night. When I cleaned my stuff last Friday, I (obviously now) did not attach the hose properly and it was not in use. I marveled at a tank of water lasting three days till I noticed the "humidifier" setting of 3! I detached the hose and reattached it seeing 78 in place of 3 and last night I used 3/4 of a tank Sometimes I can be as dumb as a box of rocks!

I used to use 3/4 tank of water every nite. I just put on the humidifier heated hose (best thing yet) it is on auto that starts out at 80 degrees . Then adjusts. it is empty every am. Is there any troubles with this running dry?I read the thread on this but still wonder.
