Increased humidity with nasal pillows?

Post by MrPianoman » Wed Nov 21, 2012 8:19 am

Hello all, I just had my first night with my new SwiftFX and I LOVE this mask. My question is, is it common to have to bump up the humidity on the nasal pillows? I have the PR Remstar Auto A-flex and on my last mask I ran it at 2 and last night I found I had to bump it up to 4 before it felt comfortable. I'm not at all stuffy like I would have been on my True Blue nasal mask at 4, but I was just wondering if that was a common thing. On the whole the night was great, what a difference being able to scratch my nose if I needed to. I think I had the straps a bit tight, because I didn't feel it was sealing tight, but that's user error and something I'll have to work on.

Anyhow, thanks and I hope everyone gets stuffed at Thanksgiving.

I had to turn up the humidity when I switched to them. But it's a comfort setting - you can make it whatever you feel like you need.

If you're having to tighten the mask down, the pillows may be a bad fit - try to use a different size. You may want to try a different pillow mask, since they are a bit different size and different fits.

Nasal pillows should be a bit loose, so they feel like a loose-ish snug feeling.
