Very low AHI not sure if is it false

Post by tomko44 » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:08 pm

I use Sleepyhead and I have a BiPAP System One. I as using a Mirage FX and my settings are 24/20. Recently I got a new Mirage FX and my AHI has been very low and my leaks have dropped a lot. Last night I had a Zero AHI. I also woke out twice, once I felt a slight leak out of the side of my mouth. The other when I woke up I felt air being sucked in. None of my relatives have heard any audible snores in the five months I have been using the machine. Not sure if this is any concern, but it is weird having a zero AHI.

Oh... I also turned off the humidifier the last few days.

Welcome to the board, tomko.

Very low or zero AHI is entirely possible. Look at the data in SH and see if the data looks like the machine is actually recording data.

Sometimes S9 machines seem to get "stuck" on 0 AHI, but that seems to be only the display, not the recorded data. The fix is to unplug the machine for a minute or so from the power. I know you have a PRS1, but it won't hurt to unplug it and let it reset if you think something might be wrong.

I feel great... I have been using the BiPAP machine starting July 13th. Since then I have had to drop my insulin a lot and had my Testosterone treatment dropped from daily to twice a week (may be discontinued next month when I see my Endocrinologist). I started using a new mask about a week ago and my numbers dropped a lot. The mask is less tight but the leaks are down a lot. The numbers are consistent with prior days.
