How can I add my photo to my profile?

I'm new to the site and I'm trying to figure things out. It's not that big a deal but it would be nice. I tried going to the Control Panel but that didn't help.

Your avatar image must be of lower resolution than is common these days.
I tried several before it would accept one.

You will need to edit your picture and resize it so that it is no larger than 150 X 150 pixels.

I used a free online image resizer to reduce the picture of the deer that I use. It was a regular digital photo but way too large. Google free gif or image resizer to find one.

Once you have it resized then save it to your computer where you can find it easily and go to the Edit Avatar tab in your Profile...upload the saved resized image to the gallery and you will have it.

While all the advice is appreciated I feel kinda computer dumb. I need to be walked through it from the beginning. I have a photo in my computer I took with my webcam but that's as far as I got.

Assuming the photo is saved on your computer as a jpg file go to the above link and upload it and resize it to no more than 150 X150 pixels. Then save it to your computer.
Once it is saved to your computer then you can go to the avatar edit tab and upload it from your computer.
