Hello
I just got the m series repironics and pretty happy with it at 15cm h2o.
was on resmed s6 for about 5 years.
If I got a smart card reader could I extract data and email it to some helpful person out there with encore pro to use their software and then email back the reports. Would the data be corupted just saving data? and would anyone like to help someone like me who doesn't want to drop the $'s on this software.
The m series on the web about $560 w humidifier my dme claims they are billing blue cross 1095. + 300 for humidifier. I'm at 20% dme coverage.

By jumping on the "M" series machine, you may not be able to get useful data from it, not all "M" series are set up to record useful data. You need to find out what yours will provide. You need the Encore Pro version 1.6 and the card reader to download the data, If you could find someone with Encore Pro v 1.6 and a reader, you would have to send them your card to download, not a very efficent way of doing things. M Series types
What was meant was the version of M series that you have will dictate what kind of information that you can get out of the reports. I have the M Series Plus which is the only machine of the M series out to my knowledge right now. The downside is that the M Series plus will only record if you are in compliance in using the machine and total average use, I think. I have not been able to get that much information about what it will record exactly. I do know that on the Respironics site it tells you what the Pro and Auto will record as far as number and type of events etc. What is missing on their list is any mention of what the M Plus will record. The only real advantage is that if you live very far from a DME, they can ask you to only bring in your card and reprogram your machine from the card to change settings.
That is why I am not going to bother getting the software. Maybe when I get the extra machine i will go for the M Pro version if that price is not too bad. That way I can see how I am doing on my apnea

I think the "M" Plus, is compliance only, useless. Too bad if people had read my posts, I warned it doesn't pay to jump on a new horse until you see him run.
I deal with machines and computers and see it every day. SATA, lets get one and have fast fun..... Almost as much fun as flashing the firmware on a Chinese Mp3 Player. (Don't do it!) Jim

M Plus
While I tend to agree about this on new products. Some this depends upon who is making it and how their other products are in regards to quality etc.. While I may not have purchased the first of the M Plus series just as it came out myself, my DME is handing these out as starter machines. Although I am sure that they got a special price for getting the new units out there.
I do agree that the compliance only data is useless for someone who wants to really see how their therapy is doing though. Besides apparently the doctors in my area do not even look at data from the patients machines and go off of how patients report they are doing.
I have to admit that I have been very happy with it since I got it three weeks ago. I do not of course have another machine that I can compare it to, I do like what it does offer. Yes, I would have liked some other features like more reporting data and the auto altitude adjustment, but I decided that overall that since this had the other must have features that had wanted originally, I would keep my M Plus.
