The only experience I've had with taping chipmunks was with Simon, Theodore and Alvin on an old Wolensack reel to reel machine... ...sorry, I just had to... ...does that show my age?

First time I've heard of chipmunk cheeks, but the air gets in mine too and I jusr make a little hole with my lips and slowly blow out the air. I'm not a mouth breather, but the air does fill up once inna while. So it's a habit for me to blow out the air but I like to do it real slow. I can also drink with the air on too but through a straw. I use nasal pillows and it is easy to put the straw in my mouth and drink and I can drink from a water bottle with the air on, but not from a open cup. I get such a kick out things we have to do to be comfortable with our machines and such. Have a great evening, Huggies, Fay

Well what worked for me was to keep my cheeks from puffing out. I tried several things without any success. What worked was an idea that I found on this forum. I went out and got some elastic supportive wrap from the drug store. Cut it to a length I thought was good, sewed it into a band so nice. It helped very well. It keeps my cheeks from puffing out and thats when the air would start leaking out my mouth. Then I found that it could be a little tighter, so I just tied a knot at the seam and It has been great for about six months know. I just wash it with my head gear. I put wrap on then put on my mirage fx nasal headgear and relax.

Do you wrap it around your head front to back, or top to bottom? I use the same mask as you and would like to get rid of the cheeks too :\

Also, how does it keep the air from coming out of your mouth? (I might have just answered my first question?)

Maybe you nosepillow folks could wear your chinstrap horizontally such that the chin part goes around your mouth; i.e., tilt the apparatus towards the back of your head, 90 degrees.

grillhead, I use it top to bottom. "Elastic wrap supportive", its latex free. Its light brown stretch type like for an ankle sprain. I got a roll that measures 2.87" x 4.7 foot unstretched. I made three bands from it. Again top to bottom, The knot is on top of my head and the bottom part of the band supports kinda under my chin. Its a comfortable stretch kinda under my chin and around up toward my lower lip. For me this puts the band right over where my cheeks puff out. It just clears my ears and works great for me. Get it where it may work for you and your headgear straps help hold it in place. Adjust as needed, like they say results may very. My lips stay comfortably closed. I'm guessing cost will be about a buck a year at this point.
