Confusing leak report and mask fit last night!

Post by possum » Tue Oct 30, 2012 7:04 pm

My sleep report on my S9 shows 0 leaks for last night but the picture on the screen for last night shows the red frown face for mask fit. How can that be? I use the swift FX nasal pillows with a chin strap and mouth tape. I usually wake up or hear a mask leak but heard nothing. How can it show two different results.

What do the software reports show? Have you looked at the actual leak line with the software?

It has been reported that the S9 sometimes seems to get sort of stuck reporting a number and often that number was 0.
Unplug the machine from electric source for about 30 seconds and then plug back in. This forces the machine to reboot its internal firmware. Just like we sometimes reboot a computer to clear out cobwebs.
Then see what tonight brings.
This may not be what is going on with your machine but it hurts nothing to do it.

Check your hose for leaks
Masks have a built-in leak that you may be hearing. This prevents you from re-breathing your own air.

I unpluged the machine waited 30 seconds pluged it back in and let it re boot but still have frown face with 0L/min. My wife said we had a power failure for 1/2 hour today, could that have done something? I guess I will use it tonight and see if I get a green face in the morning. I also changed hoses just incase it is the hose. Thanks for your help, I will let you know what happens in the morning.

Good news! I got the smiley face back this morning. I still can't figure out what was going on but I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks Pugsy and stage0 for your help.
