Quattro FX full face mask - silicone cushion question
A question to all Quattro FX full face mask users out there. How long does the silicone cushion lasts for you until it doesn't seal well and you need to replace it?

Re: Quattro FX full face mask - silicone cushion question
Depends - on a lot of factors:
How oily is you skin?
Do you use a mask liner?
How often do you clean them
My insurance will replace them monthly, however I get two to three months use, so after I hit my out of pocket maximum I stockpile them.

Agreed. I use mask swipes daily, after I wake up, and take apart the entire mask and clean it once a week.retrodave15 wrote:Depends - on a lot of factors:

But I wanted to get an average response out of the average use of average people.

there really is no average on this kind of thing. every mask and every person is different. initially just go with what your insurance allows and see how it works for you.

Re: Quattro FX full face mask - silicone cushion question
I've been having issues for a week or so now with the cushion on my Quattro FX; it is pulling out of the "groove" in the mask and causing leaks that way.
It started with just the bridge of the nose, but now it has also started happening at the sides.
Is this normal? I wipe the cushions down daily, and I don't have oily skin, so I don't get it.
I have a Mirage FX, too, but I get more claustrophobic from that mask than I do from the FFM. I also have more rainout issues with the Mirage, but that's probably a different topic.
Any suggestions?

I use the Quattro and I change silicone every 3 months. I think the cushion will last longer, but, I change it anyway.

It seems that some people believe you should replace your seals or your nasal pillows every 2 weeks. That was a new one on me.
