Hi,
I have a refurbished Resmed S8 Elite II that I've been using for about 18 months. This was a warranty replacement for the same model originally purchased in summer of 2009 that had died.
At the end of September I went for a follow up sleep study. The technicians successfully downloaded my data to my card.
Immediately following, I was not able to see the previous night or week's data in the efficiency menu. I admit prior to the sleep study I hadn't been looking in there all that often, maybe once or twice a month, and there was never an issue. This time, nothing for daily, nothing for weekly, but there was monthly data.
Figured maybe it was just because the data had just been downloaded.
Checked again first thing the next morning, still no data.
Was given a new, lower pressure. Adjusted the pressure down and checked, still no data.
It's now about two or three weeks along and still nothing in the daily or weekly results. Still something on monthly.
Based on advice from a technician at the sleep study center, I reinserted the card and downloaded my data again. He said sometimes the machines get stuck in the download cycle and never start collecting again. No luck.
Based on some research on Google, I unplugged the machine for a few minutes to force a reset. Still no data.
Does anyone have any suggestions for things to try? I do not have a card reader or the software to read the card and see if it's actually collecting data. I do have a follow up with the sleep center in December, guess I will find out then. I have been meaning to call the supplier that sold me the original unit, but have not.
Thanks

Re: Resmed S8 Elite II no efficiency data
Did they have the machine in their possession, or just the card?
Do you have a copy of the clinician's manual and know how to get into the clinician's menu? Some ResMed machines can be set to not record efficacy data in the clinician's menu. Some lowlife DMEs and doctors like to keep the patients in the dark, or someone may have accidentally set it that way.
The appropriate options may say something about "Smart Data" or "Efficacy data" vs. "Usage Data." "Usage" is the limited data and "Efficacy" is the good stuff.
It might be possible to set these parameters on the smart card itself with the providers Encore software, and this may override the choices on the provider's menu.

That would be the efficacy menu!paul9123 wrote:or week's data in the efficiency menu.
Well, it is unusual behaviour, but the DME (et al) has the ability to block your access to that data, so the most likely explanation is that since it happened after a visit to your sleep lab provider, they (accidently or deliberately) turned it off.paul9123 wrote:Does anyone have any suggestions for things to try?.
Cheers,

most likely they set "Sleep Quality" to usage .. . go to the clinical menu and change it to ONpaul9123 wrote:Hi,

Re: Resmed S8 Elite II no efficiency data
Thanks all I will check that out. I was in the clinician's menu to adjust my pressure down per their prescription, but was not aware they could shut that off.
Re "efficacy", I guess that's what happens when I write from memory and not while looking at the machine.
