It's good to see another "hosehead" from this neighborhood. I'm sure we must have had the same sleep doctor..... I'm finding out there are a lot of hoseheads in this area.

Born and raised in Modesto, California, in the heart of the great central valley. Raised on the farm, right in the big middle of an almond orchard and surrounded by boysenberries, grapes, and peaches. My first job was picking berries at age 7 and it was right then and there I decided to get a college education. Love to travel but always happy to get back home.

born and raised in fredericksburg texas, went to tstc in sweetwater 11 years ago for about 15 months and stayed for another year and a half then ran like hell back to fritztown, lol, west texas is fun but man i missed the hill country.

And a special hello to you folks from Australia - we're saving $$ now to get back to your incredible neck of the woods. We stayed 1 week in Cleveland (15 minutes south of Brisbane) and I spent that week just watching birds in the Black Swamp and on every street I walked on to and fro the ocean from one end of middle street to other. Husband was doing business that week. Then we headed North by train to Cairns. Loved the train ride and saw the majestic cranes north of Townsend I believe it was - then every park we walked in or anywhere there were trees and bushes (everywhere on the east coast where we went) - there was always a new bird to be discovered. Hired a private guide to take us up Emerald Creek and to the falls and out to see Roos in the wild (where they actually had no problem with us "sitting" with them) Those big males are a bit scary but the mommas and joeys were very tame and sat right amongst us. Saw those big horses that eat the waterlily bulbs in some lake whose name I forget.

We rode the Karunda Train up the Barron Gorge and WOW - I just thought the Wind River Range in Wyoming was the best - Barron Gorge just took my breath away - Did ride the skytram back over the rainforest and from the air mostly saw huge flocks of sulfer crested cockatoos - loved every minute of that day. Went deep into the Daintree National Rainforest next day - incredible - then moved on to the next northerly town where we went diving on the Great Barrier Reef - Port something - must be lack of sleep that has made me forget - thought I'd never forget any moment of that incredible trip.

And you folks from Oz will think I'm "jest plumb crazy" but I absolutley fell in love with your Flying Fox - I'm sure they would get obnoxious quickly if you lived there, but I got quite the thrill over them. About dusk (or Flying Fox time as husband and I grew to call it when in Cleveland) - the Flying Fox would head back to mainland from a large island (whose name I have also forgotten) and they would come right over Raby Bay where our motel was and would totally obliterate the sky for several hours or more - I thought they were incredible. We would always meet down by the marina and get some fish and chips and fried oysters and go back to balcony of room and watch the bats till it was too dark to see them or they were gone. Have never seen such a deal!!!

And the food in Oz was extraordinaire!!! The other surprising thing was that basic food in Australia was very inexpensive compared to USA. Fell in love with Port Douglas and stayed there longer than planned. Found a place about 3 spots down from motel called EJ's - never forget it - loved it. Husband would have Barramundi (sp?) fish and chips and I would have coconut shrimp. We both gained weight while in Oz for a month, but it was SO WORTH IT - and such friendly people -

We were very very impressed and can't wait to get back there. If your summers weren't too hot for us, we'd spend more time over there!!!

Dreaming of Oz today in Wyoming!!!
