So I got the call....

Post by SleepDepraved2 » Sat Oct 06, 2012 8:32 am

From the DME that they had just received my prescription for my permanent (not loaner) Auto BiPAP! Hooray!!!

BUT...

It was Lincare. I told the pulmonologist's office that all my prescriptions must go to Wright & Filippis from now on to be paid at 100%. Sigh...

I will say that the lady at Lincare is super nice. She offered to fax the prescription over to Wright & Filippis for me. But I still called the pulmonologist to let them know they aren't supposed to send rx's to Lincare anymore and to ask for a mask prescription too since W&P won't send me mask supplies without a rx on file. Lincare stopped sending the mask supplies over a month ago because I thought it would be an easy switch and did not send out a new set the last time I asked them to, since W&P said they couldn't.

I'm hopeful I may be able to get a new mask since my insurance did change since my last mask. I've got the suspicion that mine is a bit too big for me, so when I go in to get the auto BiPAP, I will bring the mask to show the RT and see if she thinks it is too big.

Thanks! I had reset my VPAP S9 to 16.6 and 12 based on the trial APAP readings and most nights my AHI is still under 1 for the night, but on occasion there are nights where I need more pressure. I notice I am having more hypopneas than I did before too, where as most of my events were either obstructive apneas or clear airway apneas, so I'm hoping the APAP takes care of that. I certainly am not having the aerophagia issues on 16.6 like I did on 19.

Make sure you get your own copy of that Rx (for both the bipap and the mask). It's always good to have it at hand.
I'm workin' on it.
