I am a technophobe.. will I be in trouble.

Post by Indiana » Wed Sep 26, 2012 10:11 am

Been reading posts and you all seem very knowledgable.

I have a butterfly brain.. it flits from subject to subject. While saying one sentence I am thinking of the next. Concentration is a problem, although hopefully this will improve. I am a nightmare to have a conversation with , I keep going off at a tangent.

Any manuals might as well be in Chinese.. I just don't get them. I am ok if shown properly.

Will I cope ok or will I be floundering?

Hi,
Short answer is no, you will be fine.
It sounds as if you have ADD but maybe after correcting your sleep problems, things will seem easier:)

I have friends who use a CPAP and never check any data. They go by whether they felt better over time. The current trend to be so involved with the monitoring is difficult for some. You might ask the equipment supplier if they would share the data from the SD card or such with you.

I still haven't figured out how to program the fancy oximeter I bought yet .

That cracked me up, jnk

I've found people on this forum to be mostly friendly and patient. I don't think you'll have any problems at all. The manuals and articles etc are fine for in depth research, but if you can read and understand the average post on this site, that's probably all you'll need.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Hi Indiana,

My DME seems to be an exception to what many people here have experienced. The Technician went through the operation and maintenance of the machine and mask in sufficient detail to be informative, but not overwhelming. If you also get a good one, they might be a good source for help.

The people here are very helpful. If you have a question, just ask for a simple answer, and we will try to help you.

Welcome. I hope your therapy is successful.

Sure thing Indiana - I'm the clean freak with the patience and concentration of a saint - a good thing too LOL. I'd like to observe the conversation to see if either one of you make any sense out of what the other is saying - he's a techno-freak so maybe he could learn you some good XPAP stuff in there somewhere

Cheers,
xena
