this is another question with no correct answer. i soak the hose in the soapy water with the mask. then i stick the hose on the end of the faucet and run hot water through it for several minutes. then i air dry as well as i can by hanging it over the cabinet door. you can also stick it on your machine and let it run for a while. whatever water (droplets) is left in it gets gone overnite. others do it differently.

I keep a spray bottle of plain vinegar in my bathroom. About once a week I take the hose and spray into each end a few spritzes of vinegar, then partially fill the hose with very hot tap water, and alternately raise and lower each end so the water/vinegar sloshes through the hose a few times. Then I rinse it with tap water, shake it dry, hook it up to the machine and blow it dry. My DME said it is fine to do that and it doesn't screw up your statistics on the memory card.

Clean it once a week by soaking it in hot water mixed with unscented Palmolive dish soap.

Monthly I wash it with Control III and run a tube brush through it.

Why do you want to clean the hose? Are you using dirty water in your humidifier?

I soak it in warm water with baby shampoo, rinse it, and hang it in the shower to dry.

Use "original" Palmolive...let it soak for a while, then slosh soapy water through the hose a couple of times. Then rinse it out a couple of times to get all the soap out and off of it. Used to hang it out to dry, but now am using a dryer, where I dry everything after the once-a-week washing.

Mildew can grow on the inside of a damp hose, so cleaning it every once in awhile is a good idea. I take it in the shower, clean it with warm sudsy water, thoroughly rinse it, and then hang it on the shower bar to dry.

No, I'm using clean boiled water daily but anything that is kept wet, will grow mold which will damage the lungs and I don't want that to happen.
Keeping everything very clean in my opinion is of ultra importance. Washing the humidifier and the rubber seals with warm soapy water daily is essential to stop mold from developing. Just because I know men in general are less fastidious about these things, I'm sure diseases occur due to lack of hygiene. This is our lungs we are talking about.

Thanks Chris
Are tube brushes sold at CPAP suppliers or is it better to get them elsewhere?

Yes. I expected that would happen (mildew growing in a damp hose I mean) Thanks for the clarification. It's essential to keep everything as clean as possible.

I've been using the same hose for seven and a half years and it's never been "cleaned". I filled it up with water a time or two to check for leaks......and since there were none, I just keep using it. I would NEVER hang one up in a bathroom. I use distilled water in my humidifier tank and the air coming in the machine is filtered. I wash out the foam intake air filter twice a month. There's nothing in there to "grow" and disconnecting it from the machine would allow unfiltered room air to enter it. I normally top off my HH tank every few nights and only dump and rinse the tank at about 2 1/2 month intervals when I start a new gallon of distilled water.
Even if there were anything growing in the water in the tank, there's no way for it to get carried to the user because water vapor molecules are too small to carry anything out of the tank to the user. In other words, the water evaporates and anything else would stay behind.
No problems for me.

But, do whatever turns your crank.
