disassembling Quattro FX full face mask

I intend on cleaning my mask thoroughly. yesterday I tried taking the elbow part off (where the hose is connect to - the part which swivels), but I was afraid of breaking it. According to a video I saw it is hard to tell exactly what to do (too fast). Seems like I have to press it inward toward the mask by pulling the bottom part up. Is this correct?

Thanks! I actually saw that movie exactly 15 minutes ago. Seems you have to apply some force in order to take it out. I will try and report. Thanks though.

the swivel comes out of the mask and then takes a 90 degree turn. think of the part after the turn as a handle. push in or pull up on the handle and it comes off. it doesn't come straight out. it kinda levers out. it won't break. you just stick it back together. mine comes off sometimes when i'm waking up and using to much force in the wrong place to reposition the swivel/hose. once you get it off the first time you'll see how easy it is no matter where the swivel is positioned, whether you're pushing or pulling..

Only had mine about 2 weeks now ( the mask ) and it too seemed hard to get apart to clean PLUS, many times as I rolled around in bed the hose would swivel and the plastic would squeak. SO............ while it was apart I smeared a little vaseline on to the outside on the swivel and presto. in/out much easier and NO MORE SQUEAKS AT NIGHT !!!

I was able to remove the part - I just had to apply a lot more force but it won't break.

it will probably seem easier if you leave the hose attached and use the hose as an extension and lift up on the handle near/with the hose.
