Pad a cheek Cotton Review

Post by jcobb607 » Sat Apr 22, 2006 1:24 pm

I reviewed a sample pad a cheek cotton in the mail today. Shipping was by far earlier than I expected. If this is indicative of Karen's customer service, she is on the right track. For simplicity sakes, I will use a 1-10 scale, with 1 being poorest and 10 being best.

First impressions:

Quality:
Seems to be good. The stitching is even and tight, and doesn't pull loose under moderate pulling. I suspect that a heavier thread may be more appropriate, but again, this is straight from the package and time may prove me wrong. Initial modification from the packaging was only to trim the excessive thread ends that were left after stitching. I have a personal vendetta against hanging threads. They always seem to tickle me no matter where they are located. An added bonus is that they can be hand or machine washed. Initial rating on quality is an "8".

Ease of Use:
The pad a cheek came with a much appreciated installation / use and care guide, as well as an installation tool. The instructions are detailed enough to get it right the first time. Installation is simple and took about 60 seconds for both pads from start to finish. Initial rating on ease of use is a "10".

Comfort:
I installed the pad a cheek on a Resmed Mirage Activa mask and headgear. The cotton is definitely more comfortable to me than the neoprene. I like the smooth softness compared to the ridges on the neoprene. Not that the neoprene was uncomfortable, the cotton is just better for me. As as right now, I do not have an initial rating on comfort. I will after my nap in a few moments.

Overall, my initial rating on the pad a cheek cotton comes out to a "9". I have strong feelings that the rating will not change much, providing it doesn't fall apart the first month, and I have no reason to suspect that it will. I will continue to post my observations. If there are specific qualities on the pad a cheek cotton that you want my input on, feel free to post.
