I have this same machine but sadly no mention of the optistart feature as referenced. My user manual is dated 3/29/2012.
I bought my machine from Cpap.com in August.
Min. Pressure Tweaking?
Re: Min. Pressure Tweaking?
I think it was sometime in late March or early April that the new 60 series machines were officially released. Looks like the ones prior to May don't have the Opti Start feature. I haven't seen an exact date when the change was made. Sometime in May was reported.dizzyhead wrote:I have this same machine but sadly no mention of the optistart feature as referenced. Manufacture date is easy to find on the bottom of the sticker where the model number is.
It is an eight digit number beginning with the year of manufacture...so 2012...then month...then date.
Example..a machine manufactured May 1, 2012 would have 20120501 on the sticker.
If you bought the machine in August it is possible that cpap.com bought the machine in early May and thus likely got one of the first releases. If your manufacture date is later than May....I guess they may have made some of the machines without OptiStart after May.

Mine is a 560. Date of manufacture from the label is 20120611 (June). Strange.
I don't suppose that there is an easy way to update the software.
Too bad! Sounds like a nice feature to try!

No, there isn't an easy way to update the firmware in the machine.dizzyhead wrote:Mine is a 560. Date of manufacture from the label is 20120611 (June). Strange.

Good to know that even after May they are producing the machines without OptiStart.
Not that we can do anything about it but we can tell people that they aren't crazy if they can't find OPti Start on their new machine. Someone else was reporting about the May thing and they got that bit of information from someone at Respironics and likely someone at Respironics didn't have all the information. Big surprise there.
Back when they first released some of the PR S1 machines in early 2010 there were a few machines for a while that allowed for a clock setting to offset the normal GMT setting in the clinical menu. It caused a bit of confusion when we would be telling one person how to set their clock and someone else was saying "what clock setting"
Eventually they discontinued the GMT clock off set thing and no one gets it now.
I don't know if this will happen with Opti Start or not or if they will continue producing both. Time will tell.

When you turn on your machine, watch the LCD screen. What version of software is displayed? My machine date of manufacture is 20120720 (July). My software is version 3.02.dizzyhead wrote:Mine is a 560. Date of manufacture from the label is 20120611 (June). Strange.
Also - the features we are discussing are enabled in the provider menu. Have you accessed that menu to see whether or not the features are showing there?
