Problem getting private messages

I am a long time lurker and recently joined. I sent someone a PM; they responsed and in my real e-mail address I get a note saying "New Private Message has arrived", I follow the link in that note to my inbox and it says I have no messages.

This has happened twice. What am I doing wrong?

Bob,

You may be doing nothing wrong. It's possible someone "unsent" the message twice. Seems unlikely, but that's the only thing I can come up with to explain why. It's like getting an email link to a post to a topic you're watching and using the link to get the message that the topic no longer exists. Probably someone removed their new post under that thread.

I will send you a PM now. Let me know if you get it. I won't "unsend" it, I promise (wouldn't that be mean???).

I did sell the reader to someone else. The first person who responded to me was who I chose. I emailed that person. I also emailed everyone else privately that had emailed me to let them know that the reader had been sold, and thanks anyway for the interest.

I tried a second time to tell you that the reader had been sold to someone else, but it seems you didn't get that email either. Seems odd, maybe you don't know how to access your private emails, because the other 5 people I PM'd got their emails.

Bob........it's a sad fact that computers,( and sometimes people) don't always behave the way they should........I have one of the crankiest, ill-tempered computers going, and so when in doubt as to the veracity of the PM'r, I will blame the machine and give the benefit to the person.......At least, most of the time......(YES! Even I can get PO'd once in a while....)

I also PM'd you but I didn't get a reply from you, either. I have no problems with PMs from anyone else, so maybe you are having one on your end? I don't know (unless you didn't reply to me).
