can anyone tell me what the open padlock symbol on the resmeds9 clinical menu means? i can't change the pressure range on my apap and i am wondering if this lock is preventing me from entering new values?

If I remember correctly you have to push the menu button and the round button on top of the dial simultaneously to access the clinicians menu.

And once in to the clinic menu, you have to press the knob once more so that you can adjust individual rows on that screen. Otherwise the knob rotation just scrolls through the different screen icons down the left side.

On my ResMed S9 VPAP adapt, on the LCD screen's right side, you have a vertical bar marked "Info" then a "Push Dial" and below that a "Set Up" bar. I learned from a post on this forum that after you press "Set Up" and get into the first menu, you need to press both bars for at least three seconds to unlock the more complete menus. There is a lot of information in the longer menus. I think their explanation is better than mine. If you do have an S9 VPAP adapt, and you need more help, I'll try to do a better job explaining it.

is this really a great machine? it has no ramp and I don't wake up feeling rested and the pressures seem to shoot up really quickly

I posted here last night but it looks like my post disappeared or was removed after it published. The lock symbol just means you're in the clinical menu, not that the settings are locked up.

On the ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt, you can NOT ramp up or down. Unbelievable! But true.

there's no way in asv mode to ramp even if you get into the clinician menu?

I think lunesta helps centrals too but I don't know how or what the mechanism is- somehow my brain or heart seems to be damaged or malfunctioning so that I get these centrals
