REM Only Hyponia - Machine and Mask Recommendations?

Post by jeffro2 » Tue Sep 11, 2012 1:37 pm

I've got a mild problem with about 9.6 hyponias an hour only during REM sleep. I seem to breath through my mouth a lot, and my wife says I snore loudly in deep sleep. I don't have a machine or a prescription for anything yet, but I'm about to have my second sleep study scheduled with an apap machine. I've read that the automatic machines use different algorithms. Does anyone here know if any particular machine might work better for me than any other? I'm looking to start feeling refreshed in the morning and hope a machine will help me do that consistently. Some mornings I seem to feel more tired than I did when I went to bed the night before. Also, any tips on eliminate snoring would be good. Do you get less snoring with a full mask vs. a setup for nostrils only? My wife says she would like some relief from my snoring.
