michelle--
i assume your nasal system that pains you is swift. maybe not.
i also am a sore cheek, or rather cheekbone user. what mask makes your cheek sore? the cheekbone problem can get worse over time, i've been told. that's assuming that's where your problem is. activa doesn't bother my cheekbone, for what it's worth.
i dunno about others, but i've given up on tummy sleeping and don't miss it.
of course, i ditto what everyone else says about your dme. your dme's natural posture is to act like you're the only demanding patient. these people obviously haven't been through cpap. just remember that mask selection is a crap shoot, and they know it, too. their job is to play innocent on that score. if they can get you to believe that you are a neurotic patient who is bothering them, you will demand less and leave them alone. don't get suckered into that game. truth is, we're all neurotic because no one knows how to make a good mask that fits enough people well enough. so when the mask manufacturers start figuring out how to make a good mask for enough people, we'll leave the dme's alone. until then...

I had my second sleep study last night and it went okay. I told them about my troubles and concerns with the DME and the sleep center gave me a new Comfort Lite 2 for free. The clinician told me that the vendors give them so many masks to try on patients so I wouldn't have to pay for it. I have to admit I really like this mask. It was easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. I actually made it a full night with the mask on. They also told me that if I have further troubles with the DME I can get my products through them instead of the DME which was good to know
Thanks again for all the help and advice I received, it really helped me to know what would work best for me
