Question on Easy Life Nasal mask

Post by emt_271 » Sun Sep 09, 2012 7:43 pm

Wow, my first post to the experts...

I have been using this mask since starting my Bipap journey a month ago. The mask generally is great, test AHI was 105, sleepyhead puts me at 5.26, and I feel great. The one complaint I have is that the mask seems too wide at the bridge of my nose, it feels like makes contact with my eyelids. If I loosen up the mask, it feels good, but I get small leaks- noisy. I run Bi-pap at 17 in and 11 out, so leaking can be a problem. I tried the small mask, but the bridge is the same on it, since it is the same headgear frame. Has anyone experienced this or modified this mask to solve this type of issue (or is there a different mask I should try)?

I tried this mask and found that it put a big mark on my nose bridge - which I sure wasn't expecting. Have you tried using a mask liner? They sometimes work wonders at stopping leaks. Just make sure you get the right size for your mask.

I had the same problem and I bought some moleskin patches(there close to band-aids and such,I think they are used to put on shoes where they rub your foot)I cut them to about the size od a band-aid and put across the bridge of my nose. I was still getting small leaks so started applying two layers and it hasn't leaked a bit,I can even sleep on my side with the mask squished into the pillow and still no leaks. Someone on here suggested putting the moleskin on the mask instead of my face but I haven't done that because I am going to exchange it and try the nasal pillows.HTH

I use the Opus 360. I love it. No sore nose, marks or anything. If the moleskin suggestion doesn't work you could give this one a try. My pressure is set at 16 and I usually run an AHI around 1.6 - 3.5 consistently with no problems.
