Not sure how to fix this
So, I've now been using cpap for 10 weeks and I have been paying close attention to my mask and machine. I have the same mask and cushion and hose. For the past week or so I've been waking up on and off during the night to a "shhhh" sound. Of course, I check my mask and adjust but for the past week the sound hasn't been my mask! So, I did some digging around and listening and found the hissing air is leaking from the elbow joint on my mask?
Is this suppose to happen? I've been feeling tired more than usual and I can only think this has something to do with it. I did pull the elbow portion off by accident when I was pulling the hose off to clean about 3 weeks ago. I don't know if there suppose to come out but its been leaking ever since I think. Its pushed back in tight so I don't know what to do to fix it? Any suggestions?

without wrecking it, make sure it is pushed all the way back in. maybe take it apart and put it back together.

I wonder if the flapper to the anti-asphyxia valve might be stuck in the wrong position.

I just looked at mine ... It does not apear to want to come apart without a lot of force ... It does kinda make an annoying grating noise when swiveled ... Maybe there should be a thin "O" ring in there, you could look at a place like Ace Hardware, they have lots of different size that might tighten it up ...

Well it does squeak really loud when it turns but I'm afraid I might have broke it somehow when I pulled it apart. My hose was brand new and it would take a lot of force to pull and put it on the machine and mask. It wasn't stretched out like it should have been yet.

don't start your own repairs. go to cpap.com, find the mask and get the documentation. it should show you step by step how to disassemble and assemble it. if they don't have it, resmed should. if you got a book with the mask it may be there too.

I looked at the manual and the whole elbow does come out but my husband pulled and yanked at it and it wouldn't budge! I tried as well and It just won't move? This is very frustrating!

Put it all on full blast. Then sit very still while husband checks all possible leaks - including the new hose, especially near the connections. The easiest way is to make the inner arm (or other sensitive area) wet and look for cold spots.
