My Remstar Auto M Series machine has been working just fine until a few weeks ago it stopped displaying data. The AHI, number of sessions, etc. all started showing 0s for the current day, and eventually the averages have gone to 0s as well. I took the machine into the ever (un)helpful DME and the RT told me the machine is out of warranty so there's not much they can (will) do and gave me a new card. I put the new card in, but it's doing the same thing and recording only 0s. They did check the pressure and it's blowing fine.
Any ideas? I talked to the RT again and she said that I could bring it in again if I wanted to, but I'd probably have to buy a new machine if I care about reading any data. I just use the data on the screen and my numbers are generally pretty good so I haven't bothered with buying the actual software, etc. The RT said she'd try to read the data off the machine itself if I bring it back (not sure why she didn't do that in the first place)...does that actually work?
Help!
Machine Stopped Recording Data
Re: Machine Stopped Recording Data
It would probably cost more than its worth to try to fix it.
M series machines are fairly common on craigslist.
Are you wanting to get a new(er) model machine with all the new data and SD card and software?
Or do you just want to be able to check the onscreen data every now and then?
Secondwindcpap.com has some gently used M series machines and they have a 6 month warranty.
You could get a new or a used machine and delegate this one to backup status for emergencies or travel since the blower still seems to work just fine.
I suspect something in the internal firmware that writes the data to the internal storage has failed.
There is a place that might be able to fix it but again..it may cost more to fix it than it would to just buy a newer machine. You could give them a call to see if they had any ideas.

It's late, I am tired and I don't have time for this right now Avi and I sure am not in the mood for it.avi123 wrote: Off topics: is the above the way they talk in Missouri? Two of my grandchildren live there!
I will edit things and say "newer" if that suits you and if it doesn't...well guess what?
I do talk weird. Born and raised in the hills of Arkansas so I am a true Ozark hillbilly. Kinda proud of it.
I am what I am. Nothing more and nothing less and everyone here knows that I absolutely hated English grammar all through school and college.

Re: Machine Stopped Recording Data
The machine has served me well and is otherwise working fine, so I'd rather stick with it if possible. No point in replacing it if I don't have to. I do like to check the AHI and leak rate on the display. I always meant to get the software and check data, but never got around to it. I was just hoping someone might have any idea to try to fix it.Pugsy wrote:It would probably cost more than its worth to try to fix it.

Re: Machine Stopped Recording Data
Insurance should replace it, if you have insurance. Medicare for sure will, if you're on Medicare.ivory wrote:My Remstar Auto M Series machine has been working just fine until a few weeks ago it stopped displaying data.
