ASV TITRATION

Post by bibj12 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 7:48 pm

I started wearing a full face mask on May 21. I had problems off and on and saw my doctor on June 25. He suggested I try a nose pillow mask so I picked one up and started using it on June 26. I used this for awhile and then got a chin strap on July 30 to use with it. I never felt any better but was determined to continue using one or the other of the masks. When I saw my doctor again on July 24 he downloaded the information from my card and said there had been almost no improvement. I was still having 15 episodes of apnea an hour. On August 13 I tripped and fell and fell right on my face. I hit my nose hard on the floor and got a bloody nose, I skinned my face in several places plus I had other injuries. Because of the injuries to my face I haven't been able to wear either mask and have actually felt better than I have for a long time, although I'm still sleepy in the mornings. My doctor has scheduled me to have another sleep study but I couldn't get an appointment until September 5 so I'm going tomorrow night for the study with possible ASV titration. Has anyone else ever had an ASV titration and if so what results did you get?

You can search for ASV and discover that are a lot of posts that deal with ASV units.

They are designed to tackle central sleep apnea in all its different forms, such as complex sleep apnea, cheyne-stokes respiration, and just plain central sleep apnea.

If that is what you have, you will find that an ASV unit will help improve your sleep.

After 12 years of CPAP, APAP and Bi-PAP without decent results I finally had an ASV titration last month.

My results were pretty amazing (0 events).

You can follow along here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=80742&p=741762#p741762. My ASV titration results are shown in the last post.

I'm still waiting on insurance approval at the moment.
