Benefit of climate hose?

Post by KenH » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:45 pm

What benefit does the climate hose give you? I keep the humidifier set to 5 all year. My Dr will write me a RX for anything I want and I have good insurance that will pay for most of the cost. Thanks

The main reason I bought one (out of pocket from our host) was that I was waking up in the middle of the night because my sinuses were very cold. Now I have it set to a comfy 78 degrees.

The benefit I like most is that I have never experienced rainout with the ClimateLine hose. I set it and forget it Can't get any easier than that (for me)...

It can let you keep the room temperature cooler which can save lots on heating.

Someone had a picture of a cat that seemed to find the heated hose beneficial as well and would try to sleep on it. I guess the cat would work as a heated hat too which can also drop the heating bill.

I don't like the air to warm so I turned it off on my s9. My PR560 seems to have it on so the hose gets warm but the air isn't too warm.

Some people like lots of added moisture AND a cold bedroom and that mixture invites rain out or condensation in the hose. The heated hose helps eliminate the chance for annoying rain out.
If your setting of 5 now with the regular hose is comfortable both in humidity levels and air temperature and you don't have any rain out issues in the wintertime then you may not really have any great need for the heated hose feature.

I like lots of moisture and a cold bedroom and without a heated hose I found that even with a hose cozy that I still had annoying rain out. So with the heated hose I get the moisture I like without rain out and I don't have to deal with the added weight of a hose cozy. Also helps with ice cube nose from the cold bedroom air that just can't get warm enough with regular humidifier settings.

I believe the number one benefit by far is no rainout. I've never had a problem with rainout, and my air is humid enough already, so it's not problem for me.

Warmer air is another benefit, but I very rarely want warmer air.

Do you have problems with rainout or want warmer air? If yes, why get one?

I might be tempted to get just one if my out of pocket cost was low enough and try it out then stash it away just in case.
