I am getting ready to set up an appointment to get a new cpap machine. I currently use the Res Med S8 Elite and I like it very much! I was thinking about the Res Med S9 Elite. My supplier has a contract with Resperonics and unless I get a Specific script they will only supply me with a Resperonics machine. Im looking for a good machine that has Quality.
what would you reccomend and why?

Re: New Machine
I've been a dyed in the wool Resmed fan for years - however, was switched to a bi-level and circumstances ($$$) saw fit to provide me w/a PR SystemOne BPAP Auto instead of a Resmed S9 VPAP Auto. *sigh*
Resmed still retains its "lead" for ease of access and amount of data available via the LCD screen altho PR has gained some ground there and, unfortunately, Resmed lost ground big time w/the addition of the hated power brick - and the Resmed power brick is larger and heavier than the PR S1's power brick tho once you are stuck w/a power brick it is pretty much 6 of one, half dozen of the other, PITA.
I can tell you that I get EXCELLENT therapy w/the PR S1 BPAP Auto, every bit as good as my S8 VPAP Auto, w/the extra bonus of the wave form data, clear airway apnea indication, etc. that the S8 can't provide but that the S9s have an equivalent for.
Both use standard data cards and USB readers so neither has the advantage over the other there. I
don't think you will be unhappy or heartbroken w/the PR S1 Pro or Auto but I'd be inclined to insist on the PR S1 Auto if they aren't willing to provide a Resmed S9 Elite. Make them provide a little more to make up for the lack of the brand you really want.

Re: New Machine
I am in need of a new machine. Would you consider sell your old one?

Some good people in here!
Re: New Machine
I'm still on the fence. I called the sleep dr and asked for a script for an apap set to cpap. So I'll know more on that tomorrow. But I would really like to hear from other users. When I got my original machine Resperonics was a machine to be wary of. Sounds like they have made a come back.
