Thank Ya'll For Help Through The Forum

Post by TXKajun » Mon Aug 27, 2012 4:02 pm

Hi, ya'll. I haven't posted in over a year or so, but the forum came through when I really REALLY needed it to.

I'm travelling on work assignment and when I got to my hotel today, I plugged my 3 yr old Sandman Auto in and it was dead! Yikes!!! I did some checking over at our host's site, CPAP.com and came up with a couple of choices for replacement. This wonderful forum had several discussions about my 2 choices and I ended up ordering an IntelliPap, all because of the comments and helpful advice from the forum. Many many thanks to all of you who posted about it.

It should arrive on Wednesday, so I have 2 nights to get through without my APAP. It's been over 7 years since I slept without one, so this should be interesting. (Remember the old Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times!" LOL)

Some people have found that sleeping sitting up (not in a recliner) may be less traumatic than in bed.
Again, your mileage may vary. Good luck with the new machine.

I hope it is the Intellipap AutoAdjust that you bought.

You won't be sorry about buying the Intellipap as far as I am concerned! I am very happy with mine after using Respironics brands for most of the 10 years I have been on cpap.

There is a lot fine tuning that can be done with the Intellipap AutoAdjust so try lots of things. For me, getting the "rounding" right (for me) made all the difference. Other than that, I have it set the same as my PR System One Auto.

Yes, the price difference between the Intellipap Standard and the Intellipap Auto is so small, it's not worth considering. Make sure you adjust the I-Rounding and E-Rounding (think Inhale-rounding and Exhale-rounding) or the machine will feel a little mechanical. I set both of those values to their maximum level of 5. Beyond that, I didn't have to make any other changes.

The Intellipap is a great machine. I really like mine and if my S9 Autoset ever died, I'd just replace it with another Intellipap.

Thanks for the responses. My new IntelliPap should be in tomorrow afternoon. I'll probably come back here and ask for advice. Thanks tons in advance.

Once again, our hosts came through big-time. I received my IntelliPap Auto today!! WOOHOO!

It was a piece of cake to set up. I read the user's manual through once, put the humidifier on, filled the tank, plugged it in and it ran. Of course, it was not set to where I wanted it, so I called up cpap dot com and requested the clinician's manual. By the time I hung up, it had been emailed to me. Opened the file, read it, adjusted the APAP to where I wanted it and it's ready to go. Wow!!

Thanks everyone, once again.
