Sorry for the gross topic but i wanted to see if anyone has had similar experiences...
I switched to nasal pillows (swift fx) from a nasal mask about 4 days ago - the pressure is much more direct (i'm on auto bi-pap 5-10 with a max of 15) and the inside of my nose has been sore. i haven't been using the humidifier in the summer but think i should start. today i started having blood drip down the back of my throat - i'm guessing from the increased dry PAP flow back there.
has this happened to anyone else? i'm seeing my Dr tomorrow just to make sure it's not something else.
also the nasal pillows are giving me two little red dots on the end of my nose - worried they will turn into sores eventually. still playing with the fit, i guess, but maybe the pillows aren't for me.

Re: bleeding
You may need more humidity with nasal pillows to kep your nasal passages happy.
What mask are you using now? (please check your equipment under your profile)
Are the spots on your nose where the pillow touches your nose?
You may need to lighten up on the tightness of your pillows; they should ride gently on you--not tightly; the air pressure helps hold them on.
You could try a tiny dab of Lansinoh (nipple cream) where the silicone rubs.
If the sore is where the barrel touches, Karen at Pad a cheek makes barrel cozies for some nasal pillows.

Re: bleeding
Why don't you switch back to the traditional nasal mask and see if the bleeding stops?
