move image from paint to here?
How do I import graph image from paint to this forum?
Re: move image from paint to here?
You need to take a Screen Shot of the image and then transfer it to a image hosting wewbsite like http://www.photobucket.com, and there you get a code to post it here.
I use this software to take a screen shot:
http://wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm
When I started to use it I had a number of times free but then I had to pay some $37. I see it now free for all time. When the ScreenHunter takes a shot it is automatically saved as an image on my desktop with a sequential number. Next I go to http://www.photobucket.com and UPLOAD there the image from my desktop. Next, I click there on SHARE and get there a CODE: IMG for bulletin boards & forums Full size, which I post here.
If you use a Mac then from Pugsy:
Someone who uses a Mac posted these instructions for screen shot. Beyond this I don't have a clue but if it is saved to a folder then it can be uploaded to some place like Photobucket.
Cmd + Shift + 3 = full screen shot.
Cmd + Shift + 4 = partial screen, just click and drag the mouse over the area you want to photograph
The screen shot file is automatically saved to your Desktop folder.

You still need to save it and upload it to a hosting site like photobucket or flikr. This forum will only point to an image already uploaded somewhere, not something on your computer.newname wrote:I'm using the free snipping tool that's in windows

Re: move image from paint to here?
If you already have the image in Paint, you're halfway there. In Paint, just click Save (from the file menu, or the disk icon, or Ctrl-S), make sure JPEG (.jpg) is your file type, click Desktop on the left side, give it a name, and click the Save button on that window. Presto.
After that, Step 2 is to follow avi123's suggestion of photobucket, or any such photo sharing website. http://flickr.com is another popular example.

Does everyone who uses Sleepyhead go through all these steps to put their graphs on here?
Okay, after getting it to flicker, how do I get it here?

Oh, and if Photobucket is giving you grief, there's also Google Picassa and ImageShack.
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

I guess I'm not being clear. I want to know what to do when I'm on this forum to get my graph imported here.
So far I can capture it with the snipping tool and move it to photobucket. that's all that's working for me. Thre must be something on here I have to do to import the graph, but I can't figure it out

Re: move image from paint to here?
you can not import a picture into this forum. you can only post links from the place you uploaded it. when you upload to photobucket they give you links to post here. you must copy the links they give you and paste them into your post.

Re: move image from paint to here?
Once you have it in Photobucket look for the box of addresses.

See the last line in that box...that is the image code url address...put your mouse cursor over it and copy it...it is held on the invisible clipboard...the come to your blank post here in the forum and put your mouse cursor on the blank page...right click your mouse....choose paste...the copied IMG address should show up.
You will only see the IMG box and the address in code.....use the preview button to see the image.
If you do it this way you don't have to use the IMG or URL buttons on the forum editor above your post.
You don't see the image when you are composing a post...it only shows the code for the link to where it is until you either preview it or click on submit.

Re: move image from paint to here?
I just got these graphs posted here as follows:
I used the Snipping Tool (by searching for it at START) to go over and around the screen in Sleepy Head, and saved it in the Desktop by giving it a name of SH 8-19-2012. It automatically gave it a png type. Next, I went to my account in http://www.photobucket.com and downloaded it there from "my Computer and , Desktop". Next, I chose the image there in Photobucket from the Album, and clicked on it to enlarge it. Next, I clicked on SHARE and got there this CODE: "IMG for bulletin boards & forums Full size". I copied the code line to here. The image shows when I do a PREVIEW. Next. I deleted the image from the Desktop to make space for next time.
Revision #3.
I need time to play with Flicker.
