Torn cushions are NOT the norm unless they have been mishandled.
The torn cushions should be traded for unopened replacements.
These type of cushions don't normally tear unless they are old, been exposed to the air and become brittle or simply mishandled when trying to put the mask together.
The mask is hard enough to get and keep a good seal without having to deal with a torn section. That is totally unacceptable. Either a big fat lie about being "just opened" or mishandled. Either way totally unacceptable.
If that happened to me they would see a real ugly side of me real fast.
Masks are supposed to be brand new and the only way to prove brand new is to have them be opened in your presence.
Anything else is suspect.
You should not be expected to accept and use a torn anything.
Unless you see it being opened in your presence you have no proof that it was never used.
