Cpap machine pressure?

Post by insylem » Sun Aug 19, 2012 7:51 pm

Hello again people!

When I first got put on 10cm, it seemed like alot of pressure. Now it seems not so much. I get that you get used to the pressure, but my cheeks hardly blow out anymore and rarely does it make my ears pop. It used to always make my ears pop. I dont mind getting used to the pressure, but is it normal for some nights to feel like your on a higher or lower pressure then others?

I spend much of the night at a pressure of 16 and I don't notice it. It starts off at 10 when I turn it on. I can't breathe with a low pressure so I don't use the ramp option. I wonder if you just have to get used to it?

I think its just getting used to it. I dont use the ramp either because like you, I also cannot breath at a lower pressure.

The Dr. started me on a pressure of 8 but I couldn't handle it. I begged to lower it to 5 but they said that would do anyhting for me so we settled on 6. I'm now going to take a step forward and get it turned back to 8. Can't imagine what it would be like beyond 10.

I've been at 12 forever. With C-Flex, I barely feel any pressure at all -- in fact it is so perfect I wouldn't want any less pressure. Just wanted to let you know that it is doable.

After 8 years, I sometimes have to open my mouth or lift up the edge of the mask and let air gush out to convince myself the pressure is on. Even when the pressure is as high as 18.

EPR or the A/C flex I think can make a difference.

I start the night at 7cm, usually end up 11-13 by the middle of the night. I don't notice it after only a few weeks. I also end up holding my hand in front of the exhaust port to check to see if it's on, then roll over and see that the pressure is in the 13-14 range.

I do still notice when I get up into the 16-17 territory.
