Since I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, I need to buy a cpap machine, but, with so many of them out there, I haven't a clue as to which brand I should buy?! Is there a machine that comes with everything, including tubing, and whatever else is needed? After I get this machine, I want to use aromatherapy with it to help me sleep better.
I don't want to spend a lot of money on this, I see there are ones out there for over $1000, I then see machines in the $200 - 400 range, which is more my affordability.
Any suggestions?
Laurie

Re: What brand of cpap machine should I buy?
I just got a Resmed S9 autoset which is an amazing machine i have insurance though that covers 80% cost. The s9 is top of the line and fully date capable correct me anyone if i am wrong?
My machine came with everything but i think special tubing costs extra. I am still rather new to this as well. Also the masks are purchased separately. I would do what you can do to get a good quality machine. It make all the difference.. i see it as you get what you pay for
Most people would call a $200/$300 machine a "brick" they are not fully data capable, etc, etc. But i would ask more experienced people on this board. GL with your choice, and welcome!

I will take your recommendation under consideration, but, unfortunately, I do not have Insurance, so, I will be able to afford something in the $200-400 range...I wish Insurance was that easy, and you could sign up and get it for next to nothing, but that isnt realistic.

Secondwind has a Resmed S8 Elite II with accessories for $275...That is a good machine at a reasonable price.

You don't have much money, but you can still get a good machine. ResMed S8 or S9 are both good machines. I have an S( Auto machine, so I can actually see if I need to increase pressure. You can get other machines that are good too, and the other forum users can point you in the right direction. Look on Craigslist too, and go to see the machine you are buying before money changes hands. If you don't like tobacco smoke smell, turn it on and see if the air smells like tobacco smoke.I only know about the S9 Auto because that is what I have. Stay away from any machine that has "Escape" in its name, since those are bricks with no data for you to see how u are doing with your CPAP therapy. Also check with family members and friend- someone might have a machine tucked away in a closet or attic somewhere not being used. If so, you can probably get a deal, but again don't pay very much for a BRICK.
