I just got my sleep study

Post by aevans410 » Fri Aug 17, 2012 7:48 am

I have been lax on asking for it, but I finally did...

AHI was 130.3, O2 Saturation dropped down to 80.

I guess it's a good thing I got this done when I did..

My original AHI was only 13, but CPAP made all the difference in the world in the way I feel.
I can't imagine how much it has helped you! WOW!

I feel like a new person.

I actually got up this morning at 5:30 and went for a run lol

Edit: My current AHI is normally under 2, Once I discount the centrals that show up when I'm laying there in bed after my brain is telling my body to get up and start moving

Hi,

Yes, this was probably only going to get worse. The AHI 130 is the highest number that I have seen reported here so far. I was around 120, and I know how bad I felt. The 80% O2 is concerning, but I have seen numbers down in the 60s. In fact, I was dropping into the 60s during one of my studies. Hopefully, that means you may have had less accumulated damage than you otherwise might have had. I do watch my O2 front time to time, and on CPAP, I never drop below the mid 90s. So even if I have days from time to time where I don't feel perfect, at least I know I am no longer cooking my brain with low oxygen.

130 AHI or 130 for the night?
Too many either way! Glad you feel better!

130 AHI for a 2 hour period,

225 OAs and 55 Hypopneas in a 122 minute period. I wasn't supposed to have a split study, but the tech said it was bad enough that they were allowed to put me on a mask.

And this was after losing 18 pounds. I normally weighed 300 plus pounds, and when I went in for my study I was 285. I'm now down to 275.

In my sleep study, I had 136 events in 77 minutes... RDI 73.5 and my lowest O2 saturation was 61%... I often ask myself how long I could have gone on like that without treatment?

I'm glad you are getting treatment!
