Padacheek liner for Mirage Quattro

Post by jjlady » Mon Aug 13, 2012 3:19 pm

I just tried my pad a cheek mask liner last night on my mirage quattro and I liked it but it feels very loose all around. I did cut the hole bigger so my mouth and nose is open. Is there any tips on how to use this the best, like should I tighten it inside the mask more where it is hanging over the inside cushion or maybe the opposite, have it just barely inside the mask. I still want the air to float between the cushions correct?

Do you need less tightening of the straps using these??

I'm sorry if I ask too many questions Doctor, but I hope you understand that breathing while sleeping is very important to me. I'd prefer not to be like the man who drowned while crossing a river with an average depth of 6 inches.

I wore mine 2 times but took it off, it felt weird with it and an occasional high schrilling sound I guess when the mask moved on it??? I am still trying to get used to sleeping with the mask.

When I use mine, I tighten the straps down quite a bit. It doesn't make any noise and helps a lot with leaks.

It's a great product, give it a chance.

I love mine, take a bit if fiddling to get the straps right but once you do it is wonderful. Added benefit - the cushions last twice as long.

The high shrilling sound is from a leak. If that happens to me I take the mask off and re-seat it.

I*adore* my padacheeks. Yes, I trimmed the hole to make it bigger, entirely from the bottom of the original hole. I started with a small mask, and the liner was a bit harder to use with that (IIRC), i've since switched to the medium and it works better, IMO.

I use it because I was getting contact dermatitis from the silicone, so I just make sure that the liner is covering every last bit of the cushion. I plop my face into it, pulling the headgear over my crown, then click in the left tab, and then the right.

If you're having trouble with a seal, try hooking up the mask to your cpap and lying down before you adjust it. I've actually found that it worked better with *looser* straps.

HTH!

I like it ! Got in the mail yesterday & used it for the 1st time last night. Kept it on all night. Nice fit, no need to micro-adjust, no cheek marks in the AM & no sticky feel from the silicone. So I'll keep using it & it reduces the cleaning duties a bit.

I find it a little big and then it stretches some (the newer ones don't seem to stretch as much).

I sort of twist the velcro connection to cinch it up a bit. I can't stand when the fabric covers my lips, but I don't want to make the hole too big, either.

I have two, so I can wash one and wear one.
