Hissing mask issues

Post by truckee147 » Sat Aug 04, 2012 8:22 pm

I use a quarto M mask and since May it has been fine until three weeks ago. I have had leaks around the seal that has been waking me up. I have replaced the liner , clean it daily but still have the leaking. I have taken to cranking the mask down to try and solve it. I wonder if there is a quatro L for large that might fit the shape of my face better. Any suggestions? Tks.

Well you can certainly go to Cpap.com and look under Masks to see all of them (more than any other co.), but I wonder if you a) haven't lost weight - it can make a difference, b) have not fitted the cushion back onto the hard plastic properly - happens to me all the time after washing, or c) possibly even overtightened it... but it may just need replacing. How long have you had it?

Sometimes the seal does that when it gets old, dirty, or clean. You may just need a replacement seal. Some people take their old silicone parts and put them in boiling water with baking soda and rejuvenate them.

Most insurance will pay for new flaps and cushions every so often.
