Do you use your humidifier all year?

Post by KenH » Fri Aug 03, 2012 11:08 pm

I am in Arkansas. Humidity is high here. I have been using the humidifier all the time. It is set to 5. And will go through 1/2 tank of water every night. I know it helped during the winter but never thought about not using it in the summer.

I normally don't use it. Just in passover mode.
But this summer with 106 degree temps and the AC running overtime, the air seemed drier so I used it then on 1 or 2. It's just something to be aware of. Personal preference and comfort. I have disconnected mine completly to free up space on my nightstand. It just depends on what feels best to you.

Sure.....I've got an S9 Auto and climateline hose which is all supposed to be automatic. Once I found the temperature setting that was right for me I let the machine handle it.

I live in the mid-Atlantic. I2 months of the year, I only use the water tank in passover mode. I have never seen the need to turn on the heater. BTW, regarding "lower humidity" with AC -- yes of course, but the humidity levels are still quite high in your home (around 60%) during the summer .. just not near as high as outdoors.

I live in a humid place but also a hot place. I use mine all the time cause I air condition 24 hours a day in the summer and in the winter when heating.

Depends on the relative humidity where you live. I use mine about 8 months of the year...plenty of humidity in June, July August and September where I live.

I still haven't figured out where to permanently set it. I live on the North Coast of CA. It's foggy alot. But if I don't use the humidifier, my nose gets uncomfortably dry.

I don't use the heater. I get hot flashes, and love the cool air coming through the equipment.

I would go a few nights without and see how you feel. If you don't need it, you are saving yourself a lot of trouble and aggravation.

I often just fill the tank, and let the air blow over the unheated water. When the humidity gets low, I'll crank up the heater, but hey, if my nose humidifies OK for 18 hours a day, and I have no issues, a few more hours don't hurt. I use nasal pillow system and my mouth stays closed, so I don't seem to get any blow through nasal - oral

Some nights, the CPAP air just feels too hot and humid. It doesn't necessarily seem to be hot and humid in the room. I'll turn the humidity way down or off, but usually turn it back up the next night if I think about it.

I dont use one at all. I dont like heated air so I live with some slight scratchiness mornings, but ive gotten used to it.

Minor benefit is not having to mess with distilled water.
