What is Meant by Silent on my PR System One apap?

Post by Starlette » Tue Jul 31, 2012 9:22 am

I've been wanting to ask this for a VERY long time.

The last setting says "Silent", and the setting is "off". What does "Silent" mean?

I think that is the "beep" thing for when the machine starts up or is turned off.
If you turn it ON then it won't make any noise when it first starts or when you turn it off.
You know like if you go to bed after hubby and turn the machine on and the beep when it comes off is disrupting to his sleep.

Oh OK Pugsy. Thank you very much. He's told me that he's pretty used to all the cpap noise. I'll be polite and turn it on.
HOWEVER, I'll turn it off when he's really pissed me off. Turn it on and turn it off repeatedly. If he wakes up and says something. I'll just say something sweet like, "Sweetheart, just having some issues atm. Try and go back to sleep." "Bwahaha!" I say inwarding. "Try pissing me off again!"

Revenge is sweet sometimes.
My husband almost always goes to bed before I do. I don't think the beep when I turned the machine on has ever woke him up.

Though he does complain about the venting sometimes...so when or if I wanted to get some sneaky revenge I can just move closer to him so that more air blows on him. "So sorry honey, just wanted to snuggle with you"

Consider yourself lucky. Earlier software versions of the PRS1 didn't have this option.

TFF about making the beeping noises deliberately. If you had a nasal mask, you could open your mouth a little and blow a continuous stream of cold air at his neck.

Speaking of silent things; it is so difficult to give a Dutch oven when you're both on cpap.
(also a good way to punish him for not using his.)

Starlette...don't feel bad. I haven't ever heard of a Dutch oven either...and maybe Archangle is right...maybe we don't want to know.

The only thing I can think of re: Dutch oven is back in the day (I'm dating myself) of cartoons, you'd seen a toon hitting another toon with a frying pan. If it doesn't mean that then you are correct in that it is best we don't know.
